Monster
03:05
|
|||
I could be your monster, the worst you’ve ever seen.
I’ll haunt you in your nightmares and I’ll horrify your dreams.
Now trust me little lady - don’t you say a word,
‘cause the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost
can’t save you anymore when you call.
Uncertainty’s a nightmare that’s been growing in my head.
You’re dancing with a demon in the guise of your best friend.
And as it overtakes me, you dangle from a string;
I could crush you in an instant, destroy your childlike dreams,
and you don’t know.
Despite your best intentions, it was out of your control -
but now you can’t forget me; I left a scar upon your soul.
And when the fear transforms me and I’m hopelessly in doubt,
both of us try running, but you know there’s no way out,
so you cry...
And you cry because you’ve got nothing else -
so far from yourself, you’ve come.
And you cry over all that’s been done,
and the monster that I have become.
But I won’t be your monster; I’ll never make you scream.
I’ll pacify your nightmares and I’ll purify your dreams.
Now trust me little lady - the angels won the fight,
‘cause the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost
were all there with you that night when you called.

Venom
03:39
|
|||
Heart's pumping venom straight into my soul.
I can’t contain it all; I thought you should know.
I see no reason I should partake,
push you away, ‘cause you can’t relate.
I want to make a difference, I want to do this right -
give meaning to life. To teach, learn, and grow,
improve and refine the future with our minds.
But man does such horror, that future ain’t so bright
out on the front lines. And I find myself bitter
and wanting to hide from culture’s changing tide.
But you’re not the reason - it's not right to take
my fear out on you. I push 'til you break,
and I fall right down with you. I fear I’m not strong
enough to weather this; I pray that I’m wrong.
Heart's pumping venom straight into my soul.
I can’t contain it all; I thought you should know.
I see no reason I should partake,
push you away, ‘cause you can’t relate.
Tossing and turning all of the night,
something’s not right. Regrets of past actions,
decaying self-worth and a hint of fight-or-flight.
Don't give me pity, it's not worth the time -
yours or mine. No time to feel sorry,
only repel the venom that's inside.
If your heart is broken, it's not mine to break.
I should have never made those mistakes.
It feels like it's treason, I’ve done you wrong.
I’ll have my sorrow, you’ll have this song.
Heart's pumping venom straight into my soul.
I can’t contain it all; I thought you should know.
I see no reason I should partake,
push you away, ‘cause you can’t relate.
Broken or bloodied, we'll make this work -
give the attention that you deserve.
All this pollution is clouding my mind...
There's a solution we'll have to find.

Where To From Here?
04:10
|
|||
I’m sorry I have nothing more to say;
I’m sure you’d know it anyway,
because you know me so well.
We’ve talked this time and time again;
there doesn’t seem to be an end,
and now I really can’t tell...
When the future’s uncertain,
is there a way to find some truth?
Because I know that you’re hurt, but I am too.
So what do we do?
So now we’re both dissatisfied;
it’s better than living a lie -
I know we both feel that way.
But still you’re crying on the phone
‘cause you don’t want to be alone,
but you don’t want to stay.
You said you don’t want to lose me.
I said “I hope I won’t die soon.”
You never cease to confuse me through and through.
So what do we do? I wish I knew.
I can’t figure where we went so wrong,
can’t figure how it took so long.
Don’t want another fight now.
Let go of that title in your head
and live your life for you instead,
and it’ll be alright now.
And I know that it’s dark,
but I think we can make it through.
Together or apart we’ll both pursue
a vision renewed, and we’ll start anew.
And it’s gonna be hard,
but we can persevere.
And even though I am scarred, I am sincere.
So have no fear...
Where to from here?
